CWR is a specialist workshop dedicated to the genuine wood trim found in classic, vintage and luxury cars. We restore dashboard panels, centre consoles, door trim, mouldings, frames, ashtrays, gear knobs and wooden steering wheels.
The CWR story
It began with my own classic.
My name is Wirgiliusz Ładziński. CWR did not begin as a calculated business idea or simply another service. It grew from a genuine passion for classic cars and the need to save a detail in my own car.
In 2016 I owned my first Mercedes C124. That was where I restored a small wooden console piece beside the gear lever for the first time. It was not yet the beginning of CWR, but it showed me how much of an interior’s character can live in one modest piece of wood.
A year later I bought another C124, built in 1987 — the model’s first production year. This time the decision was deliberate: I wanted a well-equipped, unspoilt car worth preserving. It remains more than a classic to me and a reminder that restoration is not merely about shine.
Restoration is not merely about shine. It is about respecting the history of the car.
My enthusiasm has always been supported by technical knowledge. I spent years in detailing and later worked in research and development for one of Poland’s largest companies in the sector. I developed professional detailing formulations and polishing materials, conducted tests and helped introduce products. This taught me to understand the complete process — from raw material and formulation to a product’s behaviour on a real surface.
I took part in the Retro Motor Show in Poznań twice, each time in a different role. At the first edition I led the Restoration Academy and shared detailing knowledge. At the second, my C124 appeared as a show car and I gave interviews. In February 2021 the first client entrusted me with a complete set for restoration. That was when a personal passion began to become CWR.
What moves me most is returning a piece of former character to a classic. Wood does not forgive haste; it demands patience, judgement and stages that cannot be shortened without compromise. That is why this work suits me so well: I can be meticulous and uncompromising until surface, colour and depth form one coherent result.
I treat every entrusted set as part of someone’s motoring story, because I know personally how much a classic car can mean — and how great a difference one properly restored detail can make.

Where possible, we recommend restoring a complete trim set to achieve consistent colour, gloss and grain throughout the interior.
Veneer selection and application
We recreate the original species, colour and grain layout or prepare a bespoke finish according to the agreed specification.
Finishing and polishing
The surface is finished and sanded through multiple stages before polishing to gloss, semi-gloss or satin.
We work exclusively with genuine wood and veneer. We do not restore plastic components designed to imitate wood.

Delivery of the parts
Once the initial scope is accepted, parts may be shipped to us or delivered in person by prior appointment.

Complete restoration
We strip the old finish, repair the component, apply veneer, stain, finish, sand and polish it through multiple stages.

The finished set is securely returned by courier or collected by appointment.

What to know before shipping.
Can you estimate the work from photographs?
Yes. Photographs allow us to prepare an initial estimate. The exact scope is confirmed after the components arrive, as additional damage may be hidden beneath the old finish.
Do I need to send the complete trim set?
Not always, but we recommend restoring a complete set whenever possible. This helps ensure consistent colour, gloss and character.
Do you accept international work?
Yes. We accept projects shipped from across Poland and are open to international commissions. Please contact us before arranging shipment.
Can you manufacture missing trim from scratch?
At present we restore existing original components. We do not manufacture new trim or replicas where no original component is available.
